Blog About Twitter
A Twitter discussion is simpler and more user-friendly than BlackBoard, such that it limits the amount a user can write, and has far less customization features than BlackBoard. Twitter has a standardized formatting automatically applied to each tweet or comment, whereas users can customize their font size, family, or style on BlackBoard. In comparison to an in-class discussion, Twitter is, obviously, online, therefore each post and comment can be seen visually, which allows people to view and process many replies at their own leisure. In class, what is spoken may be misheard, or even not heard. Twitter also makes it easier for those who do not enjoy participating in class to voice out their opinion simply by typing and posting it. It provides a more casual platform for users to express their opinions, whereas on BlackBoard and in-class, students tend to produce more formal versions of their ideas or thoughts.
